We really CAN be Done With Dementia!

So much research is being done into this condistion and the conclustion is that it's more affected by diet and lifestyle than genetics or happenstance.

Check out the  "MEDIA & NEWS" for current information on what YOU and I can do to prevent or even reverse symptoms of dementia and alzheimers.

I recently watched an interview of Dr. Melissa Batchelor as part of the Awakening from Alzheimer's Series by Carla Sarlin.

She explains the issues caregivers have with loved ones, patients, or residents of facilities who deal with Cognitive Impairment.  Much of what she shared resonated with me as we figured how to work with Mom and Dad.

Many things just make sense when we are tuned in to what is really happening and find out what some of the triggers can be and how to idenfity them and deal with them.

 A Family Kept Promise

It's a true story that spans 20 years and is full of tips, truths, and ways in which we faced challenges and restrictions.  This current virus crisis wouldn't have caused the same anxiety as those with parents in facilities locked down. I thank God that He took them home to heaven before 2020! But the requests for our story is even more important now for those who have big choices and decisions to make to keep their parents together, safe and available for visits.

The Couple We Kept Together

            John & Lydia Gamble
Our parents were married 65 years and Dad went to be with Mom 69 days after she died on the winter solstice of 2012.

I took it upon myself to put plans in place for Mom and Dad in 1992 with my siblings. Some symptoms of  dementia had surfaced which I share in my book.  We turned out to be one of those rare families who PLAN WHILE THEY CAN!  You can learn from us.

It was 20 years from when we put things in place to their final graduation to heaven.  Only the last five years required 24/7 care. We had medical and mental crisis from time to time.  My book Done With Dementia is the experience of what we did and how we managed.

It wasn't easy, but very rewarding. I also share a few regrets that only hindsight reveals.  Our 'hindsight' can be your 'foresight' as you take on the challenge to PLAN WHILE YOU CAN because when it comes to dementia,
If you wait, it may be too late to put the legal, logical and loving things into place to keep your parents together.

I'm so excited to get it to people who need help especially after the virus shutdowns and restrictions that kept loved ones from their parents and grand parents.  Here's the line up of well known online book sellers where you can find it and check it out for yourself.  Leaving a review (uh) a good review is extremely helpful to spreading the word.
